the Smash Bros. Diaries – Week 7 – Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Wii)

On Night One I continued my online losing streak even more in Ultimate. But this time with my new Smash Bros Gamecube Controller!

Then I went back to Super Smash Bros. on the Virtual Console of the WiiU. I played a bit and didn’t do very well. Need to find my N64 and start putting in some serious practice for Super Smash Con.

Then, I continued on the Subspace Emissary in Brawl. Played just a bit and then got to point where beating a level didn’t unlock new levels, so I packed it in for the night.

On Night Two, I played some more online in Ultimate. I think I might get to 100 straight losses before this is done. I think playing all the characters online is inflating my Roster GSP. Which is matching me up against players better than me.

Then I went back to Brawl, but didn’t know what to do in the Subspace Emissary. There were no levels with Exclamation points. I went back to the first level without a flag and completed it again, making sure to go through every door but nothing unlocked after beating it . Then I did the same on another level. I gave up for the night.

On Night Three I looked up what I needed to do to progress. Apparently, I need to play the levels with flags. Doh. But there was no guidance at all, which was pretty annoying. So I went back and played the first two levels that had flags still. I was able to clear one and get a crown. But I played through the Plains level twice and wasn’t able to clear the flag. I’m pretty sure I got everything. Very annoying. It appeared that another level opened up without a flag or crown, but also without an exclamation point. I was done for the night.

On Night Four, Joker had been released the night before! I download the Ultimate update first and played around a bit. Joker has some seriously insane recovery with his up B. He seems like a character that could be top tier if you learn him.

Then I went back to Brawl and continued the Subspace Emissary. Finally was able to progress by beating the Subspace Bomb Factory 2 Level. Then I after I beat the next level, I had to go to bed, because the Subspace Bomb Factory Level 2 stage took up a lot of time.

On Night Five I continued the Subspace Emissary. I unlocked Ness, Luigi, and R.O.B.! After playing Single Player I went into Training Mode with Ness for a bit. Ness seems to be slowly getting better with each iteration. Even though Super Smash Bros. did have the double jump cancel and jab grabs.

On Night Six I needed a mental break from Smash after playing so much Subspace Emissary the night before. And my wrists needed a break from the GameCube controller.

On Night Seven I played a little Ultimate online. And finally got a win! Even though it was with King K. Rool and I lost the rematch (because you always offer one rematch when you win).

Brawl is kinda tough to keep going with, Ultimate and 64 seem more appealing. Hopefully next week I can wrap it up.
