I recently unearthed all my previous versions of Smash Bros. Then I bought a converter for my Wii so I can play GameCube games on my newest TV through the Wii emulator. So, now I can play all five console Smash Bros. games on my main television.
So, now it’s time to run through each game and determine the best once and for all! But first of course, I have to play them.
For each Smash Bros game I’m going to:
- Play through the “main” single-player mode on Normal difficulty
- Unlock every playable character in the game
- Play nine games against the CPU on the default Smash mode, starting with a Level 1 CPU and increasing up to Level 9 CPU
- Play on each tournament legal stage against a Level 9 CPU using the Super Smash Con Ruleset https://smashgg-images.s3.amazonaws.com/images/tournament/47561/agreement-209110-c9f0ce85812edca4d45ea155f1c40439.pdf (For Ultimate, I’ll use the Genesis 6 ruleset)
- If possible, play five games online
I’ve already played multiplayer on each game with my kids.
There are a few caveats however:
- I already have some characters unlocked. I’m not going to re-do a challenge just to do it.
- If I get stuck on a challenge such as unlocking a character or stuck in the same single player mode for more than a week I’m moving on. Whether to the next challenge or next game.
I’m going to try to update once a week, until I’ve gone through all five games. So, it’s Clobberin’ time! I mean Let’s Smash!
