NJPW: Power Struggle – Tomohiro Ishii vs Tomoaki Honma
This match may have been the best back-and-forth of the year. Honma relied too much on his headbutt gimmick, but the crowd loved it and it was undeniably fun. Ishii and Honma are two of the most entertaining wrestlers in the world right now.

December

WWE: TLC: Tables, Ladders, and Chairs – the New Day vs the Usos vs the Lucha Dragons – WWE Tag Team Championship Triple Threat Tag Team Ladder Match
A ladder match where the ladders were actually used as weapons for once! This as also one of the rare three-way matches that held a good pace and managed to involve all participants.

Honorable Mention

WWE NXT: NXT TakeOver: London – Bayley vs Nia Jax -NXT Women’s Title Match
This was the classic hero (Bayley) against the unstoppable force (Nia Jax). They did a great job of making Nia Jax look unconquerable and then having Bayley overcome the odds to win.
WWE NXT: NXT TakeOver London – Finn Balor vs. Samoa Joe – NXT Championship Match
When fans complain that all the “real” wrestling in WWE is actually in NXT this is what they mean. Two of the least conventional wrestlers on the WWE/NXT roster went all out and delivered one of the most entertaining championship matches in pure wrestling terms.
