Novitiate follows the young nun Cathleen (Margaret Qualley) as she endures the her novitiate, the most difficult period of her training. The movie tries to explain how nuns choose their life because their in love – with God.
There are a lot fine performances and some very good direction in this movie. But the movie fails in that it never really adequately explains how one “falls in love with God”.
