1. House of the Dead: Overkill
There are a multitude of light-gun shooters on the Wii but this one stands head and shoulders above the rest. What sets it apart is the ease of controls, the pitch-perfect difficulty, and the variety. There are more and more different types of environments, weapons, and enemies than in most games in this genre.
The game is also filthily fun. It is full of over-the-top gore, violence, and language. It effectively captures the spirit of the 70s exploitation flicks that it riffs on.
This game is a great example of what the Wii is capable of. It uses the Wii pointer controls well, utilizes the Wii graphic capabilities effectively, and shows that mature content can work on the Wii.
