5. 5/20/2017; WWE NXT: NXT TakeOver: Chicago – Tyler Brate vs Pete Dunn WWE UK Championship Match
An absolute war. Both competitors brought their A-game pulling off OMG moment after OMG moment. But it had good in-ring storytelling as well, it wasn’t just showing off.
4. 10/18/2017; WWE NXT: NXT TakeOver: WarGames – Andrade “Cien” Almas vs Drew McIntyre NXT Championship Match
A very entertaining mix of different styles. You would think that Almas’ quick lucha type style wouldn’t flow well with McIntyre’s brawling European ground wrestling, but this match was non-stop action.

3. 9/27/2017; Lucha Underground: Ultima Lucha Tres, Part 1 – Killshot vs Dante Fox Hell of War Match
A truly hardcore match. There were multiple OMG and Oh No! moments. These kind off matches really sets Lucha Underground apart.
2. 6/11/2017; NJPW: Dominion 6.11 in Osaka Hall – Kazuchika Okada vs Kenny Omega IWGP Heavyweight Championship Match
This high-octane marathon match went a full 60 minutes. It was great continuation of the Okada -Omega rivalry. It had everything – in ring storytelling, outside the ring drama, and great strategy by both wrestlers. There were also multiple finishers hit, but in a way that didn’t diminish the stature of those finishers. Any other year this would have been the match of the year.
1. 1/4/2017; NJPW: Wrestle Kingdom 11 – Kazuchika Okada vs Kenny Omega IWGP Heavyweight Championship Match
A 6th star match that lives up to the hype. The best wrestling match of the year.
I only see the trailers for this on the web. You should really look it up on the New Japan World app and watch the whole thing anyway.
