2. New Super Mario Bros. Wii
This game has gotten a lot of flak for being a rehash of the older 2-D Mario games. The dissenters are missing the point. The original Mario games were the pinnacle of 2-D platformers and this game is the culmination of all that came before. Not only that New Super Mario Bros Wii adds new mechanics and power-ups that fit into the Mushroom Kingdom perfectly.
The multiplayer has been criticized as well. It may make the game more difficult, but the manic energy of a four-player mode is a great new take on the Mario Bros. game play.
