Fine in '09: the Best Wii Games of the Year Intro

Introduction:

The haters can say what they want; 2009 was a great year for the Wii. Anticipated remakes came out and delivered, franchises hit their full stride on the Wii, and new IPs surprised with their fresh takes on the Wii. And unlike the 360, the quality games in the Wii lineup were spread throughout the year, keeping the gamers’ Wii busy all year, while the 360 was overloaded at holiday season.

Honorable Mention:

Excitebots: Trick Racing, Pro Evolution Soccer 09, Dead Space Extraction, Deadly Creatures, A boy and his blob

Peripheral games: There were a number of well-reviewed games in 2009 that required peripherals and  because of that were disqualified from this list. I have used both Wii Fit Plus and EA Sports Active as exercise games and they are both drastic improvements over the original Wii Fit. I played The Beatles: Rock Band on the Xbox 360 and it is easily the best band-centric Rock Band or Guitar Hero game now available. Guitar Hero 5 also got good reviews on the Wii, in fact, the Wii version did significantly better than the 360 or Ps3 versions critically.

And now on to the first game.
